Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced PCU/Stepdown Registered Nurse (RN) to join a leading Level I Trauma & Magnet facility in Springfield, IL. This role involves caring for high-acuity cardiac and medical patients in a fast-paced telemetry environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and manage patients on cardiac telemetry (PCU/IMC/Stepdown)
- Interpret and respond to dysrhythmias and cardiac events
- Administer and titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips
- Provide care for post-cardiac procedures (MI, cath, angiogram, surgery)
- Manage central lines, PICC lines, arterial lines, and IV therapy
- Support patients requiring respiratory care (BiPAP, HFNC, chest tubes)
- Perform wound care, feeding tube management, and dialysis prep/post-care
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and respond to rapid/code events
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of PCU/Telemetry experience
- Active Illinois RN License (required at submission)
- BLS & ACLS (AHA/Red Cross only)
- Strong experience in:
- Cardiac monitoring & drips
- Telemetry (unit + remote)
- Post-cardiac procedures
- IV therapy & line management
- Cerner experience required
- Previous travel experience NOT required
