Travel Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
Facility: Elliot Hospital
Location: Manchester, NH
Department: Respiratory Therapy
Assignment Length: 13 Weeks(Potential for extension)
Position Overview
Elliot Hospital is seeking an experienced Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to join a high-acuity acute care community hospital setting. This role involves providing comprehensive respiratory care across the ED, adult ICU, and med/surg units, supporting patients from infants through geriatrics.
This is a hands-on, critical care respiratory role requiring strong clinical expertise in airway management, ventilator support, and emergency respiratory interventions.
Schedule
- Shift: Nights
- Hours: 6:15 PM – 6:45 AM
- Schedule: 3 × 12-hour shifts (36 hours/week accepted)
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Call: Not required
Key Responsibilities
- Provide respiratory care across ED, ICU, and inpatient units
- Manage ventilated patients and perform ventilator troubleshooting
- Assist with intubations and bronchoscopies
- Deliver respiratory treatments including:
- Nebulizers
- High-flow oxygen therapy
- CPAP / BiPAP
- Cough assist and IPV
- Perform airway management including:
- Suctioning (oral/nasal/tracheal)
- Airway placement (oral/nasal)
- Tracheostomy care and management
- Support in-house transport of ventilated patients
- Perform RT-driven protocols and pulmonary hygiene interventions
Required Skills & Experience
- Minimum 1 year Respiratory Therapy experience
- Strong experience in:
- Adult ICU / critical care
- Emergency Department
- Ventilator management
- Airway management
- Ability to manage high-acuity patients across multiple units
Certifications
- Required:
- BLS
- RRT credential
- New Hampshire State Respiratory License
- Preferred:
- ACLS
- PALS
- CRTT
Clinical Environment
- 300-bed acute care community hospital
- RT-driven protocols across departments
- Patient population: Infants through geriatrics
- Supports:
- Adult ICU
- ED
- Med/Surg
- Select pediatric ED/pediatric cases (if competent)
Important Notes
- Epic charting experience required
- First-time travelers are accepted
- Must be comfortable with high-acuity, fast-paced clinical environment
- Former employees of SolutionHealth are not eligible
