Description
Shift: 4x10 Hour Day Shifts
Weekend Requirement: Every 3rd Saturday
Location: Burlington, MA (May float to Peabody as needed)
Unit Details:
- 25-chair ambulatory infusion center
- Adult hematology, oncology, and medical infusion patients
- Average daily census: 60–110 patients/day
- Nurses typically cover 2–3 infusion chairs per shift
- APP coverage provided through attached Hem/Onc clinic
- Orientation: 1 week
Responsibilities:
- Administer chemotherapy, medical infusions, and blood transfusions
- Access/deaccess IVADs and manage PICC lines
- Start peripheral IVs and perform phlebotomy
- Operate Alaris infusion pumps and CADD pumps for home infusion therapy
- Follow unit-specific infusion protocols and safety standards
- Provide care for adult hematology/oncology patients in an outpatient setting
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of chemotherapy administration experience required
- Prior travel experience preferred
- ONS Chemo Provider Card required
- Current AHA BLS certification required
- EPIC EMR experience required
- Experience with:
- Chemotherapy administration
- Blood transfusions
- PICC lines
- Peripheral IV starts
- IVAD access/deaccess
- Alaris infusion pumps
- CADD pumps
Additional Information:
Floating to Peabody may occur based on staffing needs (rare)
