Description

Job Title: Registered Nurse – Labor & Delivery / Mother Baby Float
Location: Lansing (MI)

Job Details

Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Day shift, 3x12 hours (07:00 AM – 07:30 PM)
Start Date: 06/09/2026
Positions Available: 2
Patient Population: Neonates, Adolescents & Adults
Weekend Requirement: Work 3 weekends per 4-week schedule
Floating: Required between Labor & Delivery, Mother Baby, and OB Special Care units

Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive care in Labor & Delivery, Antepartum, OB Special Care, and Mother Baby units
Assist with vaginal deliveries, high-risk deliveries, and C-sections
Circulate for and recover Cesarean section patients
Perform fetal monitoring including:
- External/Internal fetal monitoring
- IUPC placement
- Recognition of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
Administer medications including:
- Pitocin
- Magnesium Sulfate
- Antihypertensives
- Antiseizure medications
- Insulin drips
Provide newborn care and neonatal resuscitation
Support postpartum recovery including:
- Fundus and lochia assessment
- Breastfeeding/lactation support
- Couplet care
- Postpartum hemorrhage management
Perform IV therapy, blood administration, and phlebotomy
Conduct NSTs, obstetrical triage, and antepartum assessments
Maintain accurate documentation using Epic charting system

Requirements

Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery RN experience
Must have:
- Travel experience
- Antepartum experience
- Experience in facilities with 100–200 births/month
Epic charting experience required
BLS, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate or Advanced certifications required
Strong experience with:
- High-risk obstetrics
- Fetal monitoring
- Mother-Baby care
- C-section circulation and recovery
