Job Title: RN – ICU
Location: Cornelius, NC
Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: 12hr Night Shift – 36 hours (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)

Job Description:
ICU RN needed for a 33-bed community hospital in Cornelius, NC. This is a 4-bed ICU unit providing care for a wide range of critical patients excluding cardiac surgical cases. The unit handles diagnoses such as sepsis, ARDS, GI bleeds, DKA, cardiac arrest, withdrawal, and renal failure.

Responsibilities:
Provide critical care nursing to ICU patients with varying acuity
Manage ventilators, invasive lines (ART/CVP), and critical care drips (vasopressors, insulin, sedation)
Monitor cardiac rhythms and respond to emergencies
Administer blood products and perform wound care
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for patient-centered care
Perform lab draws and assist with patient care needs as required

Requirements:
Minimum 2 years ICU RN experience required
BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
Strong critical care skillset including ventilator and drip management
First-time travelers accepted with strong ICU experience

Patient Ratios:
RN: 1:1–2
CNA: Typically 1:10

Support & Environment:
Charge nurse available 24/7
RT and Hospitalist coverage 24/7
Intensivist coverage during daytime hours with virtual support after hours
IV/VAT team available

Technology/Equipment:
EMR: EPIC
IV Pump: Alaris
Medication Dispensing: Omnicell

Scheduling Details:
Every other weekend required
No on-call
75% holiday coverage required
6-week schedule cycle

Floating:
Required within Region 1 facilities (Cabarrus, University City, Stanly, Lake Norman, CMC Main, Mercy, Levine Children’s Hospital) based on needs
Travel time paid if floating mid-shift
