Registered Nurse (Behavioral Health) - Travel Position
Location: Newburgh, Indiana
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Overview
- Role: Registered Nurse (RN)
- Specialty: Behavioral Health
- Setting: Inpatient unit with 48 beds
- Shift: Days, 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
- Weekly Hours: 36 guaranteed
- Weekend Hours: Rotating every other weekend (24 hours)
- On Call: None required
- Patient Population: Adults with Mental Health and Substance Use Disorders
- Patient Ratios:
- 7:00 AM to 11:00 PM: Maximum 12 patients per nurse
- 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM: Maximum 16 patients per nurse
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Indiana
- Minimum 2 years of Behavioral Health nursing experience, including experience within the last year
- BLS certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Preferred Qualifications
- Behavioral Health experience
- BSN preferred
- Experience in Emergency Department (ED) or Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
Common Diagnoses and Treatments
- Major Depressive Disorder (MDD)
- Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
- Bipolar I and II
- Schizoaffective Disorder
- Substance Use Disorders, including medication management and withdrawal protocols
- Group therapy facilitation
Work Environment and Equipment
- Equipment includes crash cart for BLS, oxygen, EKG, vital sign machines, Pyxis medication dispenser, and keyless wristband entry
- Electronic Health Record (EHR) system: HCS
Additional Information
- Personality Fit: Kind, dependable, flexible, and strong teamwork skills
- Scrub Colors Allowed: Black, Navy Blue, Turquoise, or Maroon
- Reporting Time: 8:00 AM on first day
- Parking available onsite
