Registered Nurse (Behavioral Health) - Travel Position

Location: Newburgh, Indiana
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Overview

• Role: Registered Nurse (RN)
• Specialty: Behavioral Health
• Setting: Inpatient unit with 48 beds
• Shift: Days, 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Weekly Hours: 36 guaranteed
• Weekend Hours: Rotating every other weekend (24 hours)
• On Call: None required
• Patient Population: Adults with Mental Health and Substance Use Disorders
• Patient Ratios:

  • 7:00 AM to 11:00 PM: Maximum 12 patients per nurse
  • 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM: Maximum 16 patients per nurse

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Indiana
• Minimum 2 years of Behavioral Health nursing experience, including experience within the last year
• BLS certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Preferred Qualifications

• Behavioral Health experience
• BSN preferred
• Experience in Emergency Department (ED) or Intensive Care Unit (ICU)

Common Diagnoses and Treatments

• Major Depressive Disorder (MDD)
• Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
• Bipolar I and II
• Schizoaffective Disorder
• Substance Use Disorders, including medication management and withdrawal protocols
• Group therapy facilitation

Work Environment and Equipment

• Equipment includes crash cart for BLS, oxygen, EKG, vital sign machines, Pyxis medication dispenser, and keyless wristband entry
• Electronic Health Record (EHR) system: HCS
