Description

We are seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) for a busy women’s services unit in Illinois. This role is ideal for nurses comfortable in a mid-to-large hospital environment with consistent delivery volume and full-spectrum labor care responsibilities.

📋 Job Details

Start Date: May 26, 2026
End Date: August 22, 2026
Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
Schedule: 3x12s
Guaranteed Hours: 36/week
Weekend/Holiday Requirement: Every other weekend & holiday

🩺 Unit Overview

Average Deliveries: ~230/month
Unit Includes:
- 14 Labor Rooms
- 3 Triage / Overnight Observation Rooms
- 2 OR Suites
- 3 PACU Bays
- 4-bed OB Emergency Department (OBED)

🩺 Core Responsibilities

Provide care throughout labor, delivery, and immediate postpartum recovery
Perform fetal monitoring and labor assessments
Assist with vaginal and operative deliveries
Support high-acuity OB patients in triage and OBED settings
Deliver safe maternal and newborn care in a fast-paced L&D environment

🧠 Requirements (Strict)

Minimum 2+ years Labor & Delivery experience
Experience in a mid-to-large hospital setting REQUIRED
Strong ability to manage high delivery volume and acuity

✅ Certifications Required

BLS
ACLS
NRP

📜 License Requirement

Active Illinois RN License REQUIRED
