Job Summary:
We are hiring an experienced FBC/L&D RN for a facility in New Mexico. The candidate will be responsible for providing antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and newborn care. Floating between departments and/or local locations within 20 miles is required.

Key Responsibilities:

Antepartum:

• Assess all triage patients >20 weeks.
• Perform labor and fetal assessments.
• Evaluate signs/symptoms of preeclampsia, rupture of membranes, decreased fetal movement, vaginal bleeding, and other acute obstetric conditions.
• Stabilize patients for delivery or transfer when necessary.

Intrapartum:

• Labor assessment and patient care.
• Fetal monitoring and evaluation.
• Administer medications including Pitocin, Mag Sulfate, Misoprostol, Methergine, Hemabate, Terbutaline, Labetalol, Nifedipine, Hydralazine, Insulin, etc.
• Assist with cesarean deliveries and newborn stabilization.

Postpartum/Newborn:

• Care for postpartum and newborn patients.
• Administer newborn medications including Hep B, Vitamin K, Erythromycin, and antibiotics.
• Assist with hearing screens, IV starts, circumcisions, phototherapy, hypoglycemia care, and stabilization of critically ill newborns.

Required Experience:

• Minimum 2 years of current L&D experience.
• Experience with labor assessment, fetal evaluation, medication administration, and newborn stabilization.

Preferred Experience:

• EPIC experience preferred.

Education:

• ADN or ASN required.

Required Certifications:

• Active New Mexico RN License or Compact License.
• BLS.
• NRP.
• AWHONN Intermediate or Advanced Fetal Monitoring Certification.
• BLS must be through AHA, American Health and Safety, or Red Cross.

Preferred:

• STABLE Certification.
