Job Analysis: NICU Travel Contract

Core Details

Facility: Children's Hospital (Level IV NICU)
Location: Washington State (WA License required)
Duration: 13 Weeks
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours/week
Shift: 12H Nights (1900–0730)

Clinical Requirements

Experience: Minimum 2 years in Level III or IV NICU.
Certifications: BLS, NRP.
Technical Skills:
- Mandatory: Ventilator management, NCPAP, UAC/UVC management, PICC lines, Med admin, NG/OG, G-tubes.
- Preferred: Trach care, Surgical patient experience, HIE management.
Patient Population: Micro-preemies (22+ weeks), RDS, High-risk deliveries, NAS, Feeders/Growers.

Facility Environment

Scale: 152-bed Children's Hospital; 70-bed NICU (Average census: 50).
EMR: EPIC.
Layout: Private rooms; Level II overflow area.
Culture: High-risk L&D attachment; "friendly attitude" emphasized.

Logistics & Scheduling

Weekend Rotation: Every other weekend.
On-Call: None.
Floating: Rare; potential to sit in the ER.
Scrubs: Any color.
Scheduling: Block scheduling is possible but not guaranteed.
