Travel Nurse Senior RN - Cardiac PCU - Progressive Care Unit

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for the Cardiac Surgical Intensive Care Unit (CSICU) at Mount Sinai St. Luke's. The ideal candidate will have strong post-open-heart and cardiac critical care experience, excellent clinical judgment, and the ability to thrive in a high-acuity ICU environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform charge nurse duties as assigned.
• Coordinate staffing, supplies, and patient care resources with nursing leadership.
• Escalate staffing or material shortages appropriately.
• Deliver patient-focused, cost-effective care while maintaining high clinical standards.
• Maintain accurate and compliant clinical documentation.
• Facilitate patient throughput and continuity of care during shifts.
• Support patients, families, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams with professionalism and compassion.
• Participate in professional development, shared governance councils, and unit initiatives.
• Promote ethical decision-making, lifelong learning, and evidence-based nursing practice.

Required Qualifications

• Active NYS RN License
• BLS Certification
• Minimum 2 years RN experience
• Minimum 2 years post-open-heart and Cardiac Care Unit experience
• 1 year travel nursing experience required for travel roles (not required for per diem)
• Experience with EPIC strongly preferred

Education

• BSN preferred
• Associate Degree in Nursing accepted with relevant experience and/or active enrollment in a BSN program

Unit & Schedule Details

• Unit: 26-bed CSICU
• Average unit census: 17
• Staffing ratio: 1:2
• Schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, weekends required
