Travel Social Worker (LMSW/LCSW/LPC) – Outpatient Behavioral Health
📍 Location: Houston, TX
🏥 Facility: SUN Behavioral Health – Bridges Program
📆 Contract Length: 13 Weeks
💼 Position Type: Travel / Temporary Assignment
🕒 Schedule: Monday – Friday | 8:30 AM – 4:40 PM
⏰ Hours: 30–40 hours/week
🚫 No Weekends | No On-Call
Position Overview
SUN Behavioral Health is seeking experienced and compassionate Social Workers/Therapists to join their outpatient behavioral health team in Houston, TX. This role focuses on supporting individuals dealing with mental illness, behavioral disturbances, and substance abuse disorders through assessment, evaluation, crisis intervention, and care coordination.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive psychosocial assessments and evaluations
- Assist with voluntary and emergency psychiatric admissions
- Coordinate inpatient admissions and outpatient program placements
- Provide referrals to community resources and support services
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams
- Support patients with mental health and substance abuse challenges
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and community outreach programs
Required Qualifications
- Active Texas or Compact License required:
- LMSW
- LCSW
- LPC
- LPC-A
- Minimum 2 years of supervised clinical experience
- Active AHA BLS Certification required
- Assessment and evaluation experience highly preferred
- Experience with trauma-informed care and substance abuse preferred
