Description

Position: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
Location: Seaside, OR
Shift: Day 3x12-Hour (06:00 – 18:30) OR Night 3x12-Hour (18:00 – 06:30)
Weekends: Required, approximately every other weekend
On-call: No
Traveler Consideration: First-time travelers accepted with 3 years of experience


Job Requirements

 

Minimum Years of Experience: 3

 

Required Certifications:

  • ACLS
  • BLS
  • NRP
  • PALS
  • Oregon state RRT license

Preferred Certifications:

  • RPFT

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Ventilator management (Draeger and Hamilton)
  • Solo RT coverage in a Critical Access Hospital
  • Experience with all age groups: Neonates, Infants, Pediatrics, Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics
  • Community hospital experience
  • End-Tidal CO2, O2 saturation, mask fitting
  • Epic charting system

Preferred Skills & Experience:

  • Adult Critical Care
  • Emergency Department
  • Pediatrics
  • Pulmonary Function Test Lab
  • Trauma Level I experience (preferred, not required)

Unit Details:

 

Facility Type: Critical Access Hospital
Total Beds: 23–25
Trauma Level: IV
Daily Census: ~25 patients
Ratio: 1 RT covers entire hospital (1:1 assignment model for RT)


Coverage Includes:

  • Emergency Department (Trauma Level IV)
  • ICU
  • Med/Surg
  • OB
  • Swing bed program

Special Equipment Used:

  • Puritan Bennett
  • Draeger
  • Hamilton
  • LTV
  • Respironics

Charting System: Epic
Scrub Color: Any color (OR/L&D scrubs provided)
Parking: No fee


 

 

You will be the sole RT on shift covering the entire hospital. Must be comfortable working independently, managing vents (invasive and non-invasive), airway management, ABGs, and treating all patient populations from neonates to geriatrics.
