Description
Oncology Clinical Research Nurse (RN)
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Oncology Clinical Research Nurse (RN) to support and coordinate oncology clinical trials under the supervision of the Principal Investigator (PI). This role is responsible for managing Phase I–III clinical studies while ensuring patient safety, protocol compliance, data integrity, and adherence to GCP, ICH/FDA guidelines, and organizational policies.
The ideal candidate is a highly organized RN with oncology and clinical research experience who thrives in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment and can independently manage complex clinical trial activities.
Salary: $72,000-$93,000
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Trial Coordination & Patient Care
- Coordinate and manage oncology clinical research studies in accordance with protocol requirements and regulatory guidelines.
- Review study protocols and independently execute required study procedures.
- Screen and assess potential study participants according to inclusion/exclusion criteria.
- Conduct informed consent discussions and ensure proper documentation.
- Coordinate patient visits, procedures, labs, treatments, and follow-up activities related to clinical trials.
- Review and interpret diagnostic tests and clinical data required by study protocols.
- Monitor, document, and report adverse events (AEs/SAEs) and ensure appropriate follow-up.
- Administer and/or manage investigational products in accordance with protocol and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate accountability records for investigational products and study materials.
Regulatory & Data Management
- Maintain accurate and complete source documentation and study records.
- Support IRB submissions, renewals, safety reporting, and regulatory compliance activities.
- Ensure timely and accurate data entry into EDC systems and resolve data queries.
- Prepare for sponsor monitoring visits, audits, and inspections.
- Collaborate with sponsors, monitors, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure successful study execution.
- Identify and escalate protocol deviations or compliance concerns appropriately.
Operational & Financial Support
- Assist with study feasibility assessments and startup activities.
- Support clinical trial budget and invoicing processes as needed.
- Ensure compliance with research billing and documentation requirements.
Qualifications
Education
- ASN or BSN required
Licensure & Certifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required
- Current BLS certification preferred
- Valid driver’s license required
Experience
- 2–5 years of nursing experience required
- Oncology experience
- Prior clinical research experience
- Experience with Phase I–III oncology trials
Skills & Competencies
- Strong understanding of GCP, ICH, and FDA regulations
- Excellent clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Experience with EMR, EDC, and CTMS systems preferred
Schedule
- Full-time
- Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Occasional travel to satellite locations or meetings may be required
