Description
Key Responsibilities
Patient Care & Clinical Duties
- Assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients and deliver direct patient care.
- Assess, monitor, and document patient conditions, responses to treatment, and nursing interventions.
- Observe physiological manifestations and intervene appropriately when patient conditions change.
- Administer medications, intravenous infusions, and blood products as prescribed.
- Assist physicians during examinations, diagnostic procedures, and treatments.
- Monitor and maintain accurate documentation of physician orders and patient records.
- Ensure safe, competent, and compassionate patient care delivery.
Communication & Coordination
- Communicate effectively with patients and families regarding care plans, procedures, and discharge instructions.
- Educate patients and families on hospital policies, treatments, and follow-up care.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and make referrals to appropriate healthcare personnel as needed.
- Delegate appropriate tasks to support staff while ensuring quality and compliance standards.
Additional Responsibilities
- Maintain professional relationships with staff, physicians, patients, and visitors.
- Support departmental goals and comply with hospital policies and regulatory standards.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Experience
- Minimum 1 year of nursing experience preferred.
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited nursing program required.
Licensure & Certifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) License issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or current multistate compact RN License (eNLC).
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification from the American Heart Association.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher from a board-approved nursing program.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures.
- Ability to assess, plan, coordinate, and evaluate patient care services effectively.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
- Strong organizational and critical-thinking skills.
- Ability to respond effectively to diverse cultural and language needs of patients and families.
- Basic computer proficiency and experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
