Job Title: Pharmacy Technician
Location: Seaside, Oregon
Facility: Providence Seaside Hospital
Contract Length: 13 Weeks
Shift: Day Shift, 5x8s (9:30 AM-6:00 PM)
Weekend Requirement: Yes – consecutive weekend coverage (10-hour shifts, approx. 7:30 AM–6:00 PM)
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Inpatient Pharmacy Technician for a travel assignment at a critical access hospital in Seaside, OR. This role supports pharmacy operations in an acute care setting, including medication preparation, IV compounding, and automated dispensing systems. The ideal candidate has strong experience with Epic and Pyxis, along with a current Oregon state license.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and dispense medications under pharmacist supervision
- Perform IV admixture of non-hazardous medications
- Maintain sterile compounding techniques (aseptic technique)
- Operate and manage Pyxis automated dispensing systems
- Ensure accurate labeling, packaging, and documentation of medications
- Monitor and report medication errors or discrepancies
- Maintain compliance with pharmacy laws, safety standards, and infection control
- Support daily pharmacy workflow in an inpatient acute care environment
Required Qualifications (Hard Stops)
- Active Oregon Pharmacy Technician License (in hand)
- Epic AND Pyxis experience required
- Minimum 1 year inpatient pharmacy experience (more preferred)
- CPHT certification preferred
Preferred Skills
- Sterile and non-sterile compounding
- Laminar flow hood sterilization
- Knowledge of high-alert medications and controlled substances
- Familiarity with generic/brand medications and routes of administration

- Daily Census: ~15 patients
