Registered Nurse - Emergency Department
Location: Henderson, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Overview
- Work in a high-paced, high-acuity rural Emergency Department with 20 beds.
- Patient ratios typically 1:4, may increase to 1:5 during surges.
- Weekly guaranteed hours: 36.
- Must work 6 weekend shifts within a 6-week period.
- No call requirements.
- Electronic Health Record system: Paragon.
- Patient population: Various age groups and conditions.
- Dress code: Scrubs in black, navy, or royal blue.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina
- Minimum 1 year of Emergency Department (ED) nursing experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Certifications required:
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) Training
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
Preferred Experience & Skills
- Experience with Peripheral IV insertion.
- Familiarity with Stroke, Sepsis, and STEMI protocols.
Additional Information
- The Emergency Department is part of a Joint Commission Accredited hospital with 205 licensed beds.
- The facility has one of the region’s largest and most advanced ICUs and PCUs.
- Orientation sessions are scheduled throughout the year.
- Candidates must be located 60 miles or more from the facility to qualify for travel status.
