Registered Nurse – Neuro Tele / Stepdown (MS/Tele)


Location: Lubbock, TX 79410
Unit: Neuro Tele / Stepdown (Includes Epilepsy Monitoring Unit)
Contract Length: 13 Weeks
Start Date: 06/01/2026
Shift: Nights- 3x12hrs- Every other weekend required


Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for its Neuro Telemetry / Stepdown unit with a strong neurological focus, including care for patients in the Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU). The RN will provide high-quality, patient-centered care to neurological and stepdown-level patients requiring continuous cardiac and neurological monitoring.
 

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care to neuro telemetry and stepdown patients
  • Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms and neurological status changes
  • Care for patients in the Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU)
  • Administer medications and treatments per physician orders
  • Respond to acute changes in patient condition and escalate appropriately
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams (neurology, hospitalists, respiratory therapy, etc.)

Requirements

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Texas or compact eligible)
  • Minimum experience in Telemetry, Stepdown, or Neuro nursing preferred
  • Strong neuro assessment skills preferred (stroke, seizures, epilepsy monitoring)
  • BLS required
  • ACLS preferred
Comfortable with floating to similar acuity units Ability to work night shifts and rotating weekends
