Job Type: Full‑Time | Direct Hire
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Compensation: $127,000–$191,000 annually (DOE)

Job Overview
A leading nonprofit healthcare organization is seeking an experienced Director of Development to lead major gift strategy with a strong focus on grateful patient fundraising and physician partnership. This is a senior, relationship‑driven role within an established Foundation supporting high‑impact clinical and capital priorities.
The ideal candidate is a proven major gifts professional who thrives in high‑touch donor engagement and disciplined portfolio management.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of 100–150 individual donors with capacity to give $10,000+, with emphasis on $100,000+ gifts
- Lead the full donor lifecycle: identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship
- Advance grateful patient fundraising through close collaboration with physicians
- Identify and qualify new donor prospects in partnership with executive leadership and board members
- Secure gifts from both new prospects and existing major donors
- Prepare compelling donor proposals, stewardship reports, and donor communications
- Support donor cultivation events and strategic engagement activities
- Maintain accurate, timely donor activity records in the fundraising CRM (RE NXT)
- Develop and maintain strong knowledge of organizational programs and funding priorities
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required (Master’s degree preferred)
- 5–10+ years of nonprofit development experience
- Hospital or healthcare fundraising experience strongly preferred
- Demonstrated success managing major gift portfolios
- Experience working with physicians, executive leadership, and/or boards
- Strong writing, analytical, and interpersonal communication skills
- High level of professionalism, discretion, and strategic thinking
Compensation & Benefits
- Base Salary: $127,000–$191,000 (commensurate with experience)
- Benefits: Full benefits package and retirement plan
- Employment Type: Permanent direct hire

- Onsite role in a Northeast metro area
- Standard business hours (no nights or weekends)
