Location: Miles City, MT
Contract Length: 13 Weeks
Shift: 3x12 Hour Days (12-hour shifts)
Hours: 36 hours/week

Job Summary

The Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) provides advanced-level respiratory care to patients with cardiopulmonary disorders. The therapist is responsible for assessment, treatment, and management of respiratory conditions while collaborating with physicians and nursing staff to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

This role also serves as a clinical resource and mentor to other respiratory therapy staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform and interpret diagnostic respiratory testing and arterial blood gases (ABGs)
• Administer respiratory medications and therapies safely and effectively
• Manage ventilator support and respiratory equipment
• Monitor patient condition and adjust treatment plans as needed
• Educate patients and families on respiratory care and treatments
• Ensure accurate clinical documentation and compliance with protocols
• Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives
• Maintain equipment and ensure proper functionality
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams 

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of an NBRC-approved Respiratory Therapy program
• Current RRT credential (Registered Respiratory Therapist)
• Active state Respiratory Therapist license
• BLS certification (AHA required)
• Strong knowledge of respiratory care protocols and patient management 

Preferred Skills

• Critical thinking in acute care environments
• Strong patient education and communication skills
• Experience with ventilator management and respiratory protocols
• Ability to function independently in a fast-paced hospital setting
