Location: White Plains, NY
Job Type: Per Diem
Shift: Varied | Monday–Friday, Weekends & Holidays | 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
Compensation: $56,500 – $71,300 annually (based on FT equivalent)

Job Overview
A leading acute‑care hospital in the Northeast is seeking a skilled Central Supply Technician II to support surgical and clinical operations through high‑quality sterile processing and supply management. This role is ideal for a certified technician who can work independently, serve as a resource to others, and ensure compliance with infection control and sterilization standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure surgical supplies, instruments, and equipment are properly cleaned, decontaminated, assembled, inspected, packaged, sterilized, stored, and distributed
- Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot sterilizers, washer/disinfectors, ultrasonic cleaners, cart washers, and heat sealers
- Assemble instrument trays using established recipes; inspect instruments for cleanliness and function
- Select appropriate sterilization methods and document sterilization loads and biological testing
- Safely handle biohazardous materials, linen, and waste while maintaining environmental standards
- Track, retrieve, and distribute medical and surgical supplies in a timely manner
- Serve as a resource and trainer for Central Processing customers and team members
- Maintain inventory by ordering, receiving, stocking, rotating, and monitoring usage
- Transport patients to and from the OR and PACU as needed
- Apply current infection prevention and control practices
- Complete 10 Continuing Education Credits (CECs) annually per NYS requirements
- Maintain accurate documentation and comply with all policies and procedures
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- CRCST or CSPDT certification required
(or grandfathered per NYS guidelines – one year of service between Jan 2011–Jan 2015) - Previous Central Supply or OR instrument processing experience preferred
- Familiarity with medical and surgical equipment preferred
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both written and verbal
Work Environment
- Exposure to chemicals and sterilization agents per safety guidelines
- Requires continuous operation of department equipment
- Ability to lift, transport, and handle heavy objects
- Prolonged standing and concentration required
- Fast‑paced clinical environment with frequent multitasking
Compensation & Benefits
- Pay Range: $56,500 – $71,300 annually (FT equivalent; prorated for per diem)
