Location: St. Louis, MO
Duration: 26 Weeks
Available Shifts: Day & Night (3x12), both shifts are available.
Weekend Requirement: Every 3rd Weekend

🩺 Job Summary
The Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) provides advanced respiratory care services across ICU and general inpatient units. The role involves managing critically ill patients requiring ventilatory support, administering respiratory medications, and performing diagnostic and therapeutic respiratory procedures.
📌 Key Responsibilities
- Manage and monitor mechanically ventilated patients
- Perform ventilator support including BiPAP, CPAP, HFNC, and weaning protocols
- Provide airway management including intubation support, extubation, suctioning, and tracheostomy care
- Administer respiratory medications (e.g., Albuterol, Atrovent, Pulmicort, Nitric Oxide, Xopenex, etc.)
- Perform and interpret ABGs and basic EKG rhythms
- Provide nebulizer treatments and oxygen therapy
- Assist with bronchoscopy procedures and airway interventions
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams
- Maintain accurate documentation in Epic EMR
- Precept and support respiratory therapy students when assigned
🎓 Required Qualifications
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) – HARDSTOP
- Active Missouri Respiratory Care Practitioner License
- BLS (AHA Certification Required)
- Minimum 2 years of recent respiratory therapy experience
- Strong ICU/acute care experience required
⭐ Required Skills & Experience
- Ventilator management (PB840, PB980, Hamilton systems preferred)
- Critical care respiratory support (ICU experience required)
- ABG interpretation
- Airway management (ETT, tracheostomy, suctioning, extubation)
- Oxygen therapy and nebulizer treatments
- Strong knowledge of respiratory medications and delivery systems
- Ability to work independently in high-acuity environments
🌟 Preferred Skills
- Level I/II Trauma Center experience
- Teaching hospital experience
- AARC membership
- Bachelor’s degree in healthcare-related field (preferred or in progress)
- Advanced ventilator troubleshooting experience
⚠️ Important Compliance Requirements
- Mile Radius Rule Applies: No candidates within a 75-mile radius of the facility are eligible
- Local candidates and local travelers are NOT permitted
- RRT Certification is a HARDSTOP requirement
- RTO: Maximum of 7 days per assignment
- Floating: Required within ICU and general inpatient units as needed
- First-time travelers accepted (if clinically qualified)
