Position Overview

Hampstead Hospital is seeking an experienced Psychiatric Registered Nurse (RN) for an immediate contract opportunity working with pediatric and adolescent behavioral health patients. This role is ideal for compassionate mental health professionals who thrive in a structured psychiatric care environment and are committed to providing trauma-informed, patient-centered care.

The RN will provide direct nursing care, medication administration, treatment coordination, and crisis intervention while collaborating with a multidisciplinary behavioral health team to support the safety and recovery of pediatric and adolescent patients.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive psychiatric nursing care to pediatric and adolescent patients in an inpatient behavioral health setting.
• Administer medications and medical treatments in accordance with physician orders and facility policies.
• Conduct patient assessments, monitor behavioral and physical health status, and document findings accurately.
• Participate in multidisciplinary treatment planning and patient care coordination.
• Perform phlebotomy and blood draws for pediatric/adolescent patients as required.
• Support crisis intervention, de-escalation, and therapeutic communication strategies.
• Maintain a safe and supportive environment for patients, families, and staff.
• Collaborate with psychiatrists, therapists, social workers, and nursing leadership to achieve positive patient outcomes.
• Uphold organizational mission, values, and nursing practice standards in daily patient care activities.

Required Qualifications

Experience

• Previous pediatric psychiatric nursing experience required
• Experience working with adolescent behavioral health populations strongly preferred
• Must be comfortable performing phlebotomy on pediatric/adolescent patients

Licensure & Certifications

• Active New Hampshire RN License or Compact RN License
• BLS Certification
• CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) Certification

Schedule Details

• Night Shift / 3rd Shift ONLY
• 8-hour shifts
• 40 hours guaranteed per week
• 13-week contract assignment
