Description

RN (Registered Nurse) – Hospice RN

Location: Grand Island, Nebraska
Schedule: Days | 32 Hours per Week
Assignment Type: Contract

 

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Hospice care for an assignment in Grand Island, NE. The ideal candidate will provide skilled nursing care, emotional support, and patient-centered services to individuals receiving end-of-life care in home or hospice settings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive hospice nursing care to patients in accordance with physician orders and care plans.
  • Assess patient conditions and monitor symptoms, pain management, and overall comfort.
  • Collaborate with physicians, case managers, social workers, and interdisciplinary care teams.
  • Educate patients and family members regarding treatment plans, medications, and hospice care services.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care activities.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
  • Support patients and families with compassionate end-of-life care and emotional support.
  • Ensure compliance with facility policies, state regulations, and professional nursing standards.

Qualifications

  • Active RN license in the state of Nebraska or compact state license.
  • Minimum 1–2 years of recent Hospice RN experience preferred.
  • BLS certification required.
  • Strong assessment, communication, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Previous home health or hospice experience preferred.
