Description
Experience Requirements
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience preferred
Required Certifications
- BLS required
- ACLS required
- COVID-19 Vaccine: Required – Medical/Religious Exemptions and Declinations Allowed
- Flu Vaccine: Required – Medical/Religious Exemptions and Declinations Allowed
Education & Licensure Requirements
- ADN required
- BSN preferred
- Current Arkansas RN License or Compact State RN License in good standing required
Additional Qualifications
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively
- Basic computer knowledge required
Clinical Experience & Patient Population
The ICU/CSICU team provides care for patients undergoing:
- Coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG)
- Thoracotomy procedures
- Carotid stenting
- Heart valve replacement and repair
- Various vascular-related interventions
- Interventional and non-interventional procedures
- General surgery procedures
Specialized Equipment & Advanced Therapies
Experience caring for patients requiring advanced therapies and specialized equipment is highly valued, including:
- Intra-aortic balloon pumps (IABP)
- Induced hypothermia
- Extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO)
- Impella Heart Pump
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care for assigned patients within the nursing unit
- Demonstrate leadership within the nursing team
- Utilize the nursing process to:
- Assess
- Diagnose
- Plan
- Implement
- Evaluate patient care plans
- Practice through the model of Shared Governance
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to promote evidence-based care within a healing culture for patients and families
