Job Description: Registered Nurse – Telemetry/Med-Surg (RN Telemetry I)

Contract Duration: 06/14/2026 – 09/12/2026
Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM (Day Shift)
 

Position Summary

The Registered Nurse – Telemetry/Med-Surg is responsible for delivering high-quality patient care to adult patients requiring cardiac monitoring, medical-surgical treatment, and ongoing nursing assessment. The RN will work collaboratively with physicians, interdisciplinary teams, and support staff to ensure safe, effective, and compassionate patient care in a fast-paced acute care environment.

This role requires strong telemetry interpretation skills, recent Med/Surg experience, Epic EMR proficiency, and the ability to float to similar units as needed.
 

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care for telemetry and medical-surgical patients
  • Monitor, interpret, and respond to cardiac telemetry rhythms
  • Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and develop individualized care plans
  • Administer medications and treatments safely in accordance with facility protocols
  • Document patient care accurately using Epic EMR
  • Collaborate with physicians, case managers, respiratory therapists, and ancillary staff
  • Respond promptly to changes in patient condition and emergencies
  • Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and discharge instructions
  • Maintain compliance with infection prevention and patient safety standards
  • Float to other appropriate units based on staffing needs

Required Qualifications

  • Active RN License (State of Ohio or Compact License)
  • Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg nursing experience required
  • Recent Telemetry experience required
  • Epic EMR experience within the last year required
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ACEN or CCNE accredited)
  • Ability to float between units as needed
  • Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills

Required Certifications

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
  • NIH Stroke Certification
