Description
Job Title: RN Manager – Obstetrics (Hot Job)
Employment Type: Travel (Candidate within 90 miles won't accept)
Job Summary:
Responsible for overseeing maternal and neonatal nursing operations within a Level 2 maternal and neonatal center. Ensures safe, high-quality patient care across antepartum, mother-baby, newborn, OB/GYN, and NICU services.
Job Responsibilities:
- Oversee maternity and obstetrics nursing operations
- Manage staffing, workflow, and clinical quality standards
- Support high-risk maternal and neonatal patient care
- Respond to unit escalations and emergencies as needed (rare direct case involvement)
- Coordinate with providers and leadership during high-acuity situations
- Ensure compliance with clinical protocols and regulatory requirements
Requirements:
Experience:
- 2-3 years of experience in maternity services (L&D, Mother-Baby, Postpartum, NICU, Nursery) required
- Minimum 15 months of interim leadership or nurse manager experience in maternity/OB/L&D required
- Must have at least 1 completed travel contract in the past 15 months (no first-time travelers)
- Experience with glucose, magnesium sulfate, and Pitocin preferred
Education:
- BSN required
- MSN preferred
Licensure:
- Active Iowa RN license or compact/multistate license required at time of submission
- Valid Driver’s License required
Additional Requirements:
- EPIC experience required
- Resume must reflect required maternity nurse manager/leadership experience (minimum 24 months recent)
- Skills checklist must match maternity/OB nurse manager discipline
- Professional reference from supervisor/manager/CNO within last 24 months preferred
