Tell us about the unit(s):
· Number of Beds - 11
· Number of Staff – 8 RNs
· Type of staff:
o Day Shift – 2 RNs, 1 ED Physician & 1 Radiology Tech (security officer in campus from 12 pm to 4 AM)
o Night Shift - – 2 RNs, 1 ED Physician & 1 Radiology Tech (security officer in campus from 12 pm to 4 AM)
· Patient Ratios – Team Nursing.
· Type of equipment - Standard Emergency Department
· EMR – Meditech
Typical hiring profile
Skill Set Most recruited for:
Must have candidates without these skills will not be considered for the role.
· Strong ED clinical judgment and critical thinking (able to rapidly assess, prioritize and intervene in high acuity and low resource ED setting, strong TRIAGE skills)
· Ability to work independently and within a small high functioning team (accountability, adaptability and effective communication in two RN, one Rad tech and one ED provider staffing model)
· Strong Teamwork and communication skills (works collaboratively with physicians, nurses and unlicensed staff and EMS)
·
Preferred or nice to have: candidates with these skills will be considered first.
· Bilingual (English and Spanish)
· Previous experience working in FSED
· Meditech Knowledge
· Point of Care testing experience in FSED.
List typical procedures performed on unit(s):
· Phlebotomy
· ED nursing care across all TRIAGE levels.
· Airway management / Intubation support
· Splinting/ immobilization
· Moderate sedation monitoring and recovery
· Wound care/ laceration repair assistance
· Cardiac monitoring, code response and resuscitation support.

REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS:
· BLS, ACLS, PALS, ENPC and TNCC.

Floating Area(s):
· May be floated to Brownsville FSED (23.25 miles from Harlingen FSED) and Main ED at main campus 23 miles away from Harling FSED.
Dress Code:
· Scrub Color/Attire - Royal blue.
Unit Guidelines/Policies: Please feel free to attach unit policies and guidelines.
· Adherence to all hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
Weekends and On call (if any)
· Block scheduling is mandatory.
