Description
Job Title: Endoscopy Technician
Location: Rochester, Michigan
Shift: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM | 40 Hours/Week
Duration: 13 Weeks Contract
On-Call Requirement: Required
- One weekend/month (24-hour coverage starting at 6:00 AM)
- One week/month (4:30 PM – 6:00 AM coverage)
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Endoscopy Technician to join a busy endoscopy unit in Rochester, MI. The ideal candidate will assist physicians and nursing staff during advanced endoscopic procedures while ensuring proper equipment handling, patient support, and scope reprocessing.
Responsibilities:
- Assist physicians and RNs during endoscopic procedures
- Support pre, intra, and post-procedure patient care
- Monitor and document patient information as directed
- Prepare procedure rooms and maintain equipment readiness
- Perform quality control checks on endoscopes prior to procedures
- Handle and manage endoscopy accessories and specimen collection
- Assist with patient positioning and airway support
- Perform immediate post-procedure scope pre-cleaning and reprocessing
- Troubleshoot endoscopy equipment including suction, CO2 pumps, and water pumps
- Perform high-level disinfection of endoscopes and accessories
- Maintain accurate documentation within endoscopy software systems
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Active BLS Certification
- Experience with advanced endoscopy procedures including:
- EBUS
- Bronchoscopy
- Standard EUS
- ERCPs
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with endoscopy equipment and scope/instrument reprocessing
- Minimum 2 years of healthcare experience in a clinical or endoscopy setting
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant, Surgical Tech, or EMT program preferred
