Description

Job Title: Endoscopy Technician
Location: Rochester, Michigan
Shift: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM | 40 Hours/Week
Duration: 13 Weeks Contract
On-Call Requirement: Required

  • One weekend/month (24-hour coverage starting at 6:00 AM)
  • One week/month (4:30 PM – 6:00 AM coverage)

Job Summary:

 

We are seeking an experienced Endoscopy Technician to join a busy endoscopy unit in Rochester, MI. The ideal candidate will assist physicians and nursing staff during advanced endoscopic procedures while ensuring proper equipment handling, patient support, and scope reprocessing.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Assist physicians and RNs during endoscopic procedures
  • Support pre, intra, and post-procedure patient care
  • Monitor and document patient information as directed
  • Prepare procedure rooms and maintain equipment readiness
  • Perform quality control checks on endoscopes prior to procedures
  • Handle and manage endoscopy accessories and specimen collection
  • Assist with patient positioning and airway support
  • Perform immediate post-procedure scope pre-cleaning and reprocessing
  • Troubleshoot endoscopy equipment including suction, CO2 pumps, and water pumps
  • Perform high-level disinfection of endoscopes and accessories
  • Maintain accurate documentation within endoscopy software systems

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Active BLS Certification
  • Experience with advanced endoscopy procedures including:
    • EBUS
    • Bronchoscopy
    • Standard EUS
    • ERCPs

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with endoscopy equipment and scope/instrument reprocessing
  • Minimum 2 years of healthcare experience in a clinical or endoscopy setting
  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant, Surgical Tech, or EMT program preferred
