Description
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Schedule: Monday–Friday | 5x8s | 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM (Days)
- Experience Required: Minimum 2+ years of ECHO experience
- Specialized Skills: Advanced transthoracic echocardiography experience required
- Required Certifications:
- ARDMS RDCS or CCI RCS
- BLS (American Heart Association)
- Education:
- Graduate of an accredited Ultrasound/Sonography program.
- Must maintain continuing education requirements as required by ARDMS, CCI, ICAVL, or ICAE.
- Certifications & Licensure:
- Required: ARDMS RDCS or RVT, or CCI RCS or RVS.
Current BLS (American Heart Association) certification.

- Job Title: Heart and Vascular Sonographer
- Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Heart and Vascular Sonographer to perform non-invasive ultrasound procedures in vascular and echocardiography studies. The role focuses on delivering high-quality imaging, excellent patient care, and clear communication with patients, families, and healthcare teams. The sonographer will also contribute to education, research activities, and continuous improvement initiatives while working with advanced imaging technology in a supportive clinical environment. - Key Responsibilities:
- Perform non-invasive vascular and echocardiography examinations in accordance with established protocols.
- Produce high-quality diagnostic images and accurate data using ultrasound equipment and accessories.
- Obtain relevant patient history and ensure proper documentation for each study.
- Review orders and communicate with appropriate staff if modifications are needed based on clinical findings.
- Clearly explain procedures to patients, families, and healthcare staff.
- Maintain strong professional relationships with patients, physicians, and team members.
- Ensure efficient workflow, including scheduling add-on and emergency studies when needed.
- Coordinate with patient care areas to ensure timely preparation and transport of patients.
- Maintain cleanliness of work areas and ensure adequate supply inventory.
- Report equipment issues and operate all imaging systems safely and effectively.
- Follow quality control standards and participate in departmental improvement activities.
- Stay current with updated protocols, certifications, and continuing education requirements.
- Attend meetings and contribute to departmental discussions and initiatives.
- Required Skills & Experience:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).
- Ability to communicate effectively with physicians, management, and technical staff.
- Knowledge of vascular and/or cardiac sonography practices and clinical advances.
- Understanding of accreditation, credentialing, and quality assurance processes.
- Basic knowledge of imaging systems, DICOM standards, networking, and electronic medical records.
