General Information
Tell us about the unit(s):
- Number of Beds -12 bed Level III NICU with average 2.79 patients per day
- Number of Staff – Total FTE is 8.0 with 2 RNs staffed per shift and 1 NNP 24/7 available on floor
- Type of staff:
- Day Shift – 2 RN’s and 1 NP
- Night Shift – 2 RN’s 1 NP
Patient Ratios – 1:3 but generally only have 1-3 patients admitted at a time
Type of equipment - Bubble CPAP/ High Flow/ Phototherapy/ Istat
- EMR – Meditech / CPN
Typical hiring profile
Skill Set Most recruited for: (Travel RNs, local CNAs and sitters)
Must have: candidates without these skills will not be considered for the role.
- Minimum 1-year current acute care hospital NICU RN experience
- BLS and NRP
- Must have level 11 NICU experience
Preferred or nice to have: candidates with these skills will be considered first.
- Level 111 NICU experience is highly preferred
- Prior Mediech experience
- Ventilator Management / CPAP
List typical procedures performed on unit(s):
- Attend c-section and other high-risk deliveries/ initial resuscitation and stabilization
- Manage Late Preterm/ SGA/ LGA/ GDM infants first 24h of life
- Manage feeders and growers
Best personality Fit:
- Team player – small staff so be willing to work together to determine skill sets and who be best to care for each patient

· HCA HealthONE Aurora is a smaller lower volume facility with a Level III NICU – averaging about 2.79 infants per day, you have ability to work closely with NNP and collaboratively care for your patients.
