Perioperative Nurse Manager # of beds 35 in total over 5 units Required Certifications BLS ACLS PALS Common diagnoses/Types of patients Units under the manager's purview include: Pre-Assessment Testing (PAT), Ambulatory Observation Unit (AOU/Preoperative), Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU/Phase I recovery), Procedure Care Unit (PCU/Phase II recovery, Cath Lab, Interventional Radiology, and GI recovery), and Endoscopy. These departments collectively serve both inpatient and outpatient populations. Specific Job Duties Related to this role? "Key responsibilities include managing staff schedules and timecards, responding to incident reports, coordinating new supply procurement (based on physician requests, as needed), conducting patient service recovery efforts, and escalating real-time staff issues when necessary. Union Hospital- Rounding on patients, helping but no direct patient care, pushing a wheelchair at most. Time cards, scheduling, incident reports, service recovery for patients, day to day, issues as they arise, throughput, beds, and supply and order for physicians- special requests The larger units are supported by Nurse Shift Managers (NSMs) who assist with daily operations. Managing over 60 FTE to cover 5 units spread throughout the hospital." Experience or 'Must have' skills: Minimum Bachelors degree and 2 year of Perioperative and 1 of manager experience, Union environment, Prefer travel experience, Prefer Cerner experience but not required How many staff with leader oversee? 60 FTE to cover 5 units spread throughout the hospital. Charge Nurse/House Supervisor (Is the charge nurse required to take a patient assignment?) Perioperative director, 3 nurse shift managers and 65 staff members. Responsible for evals placed in system-- NSM will complete Shifts & Scheduling (Do you allow self-scheduling? Block scheduling?) M-F 8 hour days, very flexible to start, PACU is open 24/7 other units open 530a-7p Weekend Requirements no Holiday Requirements no Is there a call or standby requirement? no Floating Requirements n/a Scrub Color/Dress Code scrubs or business casual, manger previously did scrubs- Navy Blue , and rounding on units Unit/Department specific orientation 1 week, previous manager taking director role, will be available for questions.
