Internal Job Description
**AUTO OFFER * * RN's - Pass/Fail exam on Friday during orientation. OPEN BOOK exam on skills learned - they are given all necessary resources to pass. Must receive a 90% to pass or they will be terminated * * Radius Rule: 50 miles AND candidates may not be full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity. **Fingernail policy: Artificial nails are prohibited in all departments providing patient care- refusal to remove nails will lead to termination of contract **Driver's license required at submittal and will be used to determine if candidate is outside 50 miles.** Unit Med/Surg Oncology Miscellaneous Info & Examples if Needed Onc certification is a plus but not required, travelers will not be required to do chemotherapy due to internal requirements for competency. Most patients are general medical/surgical but with specialty in post tumor surgical intervention. Very similar to typical surgical patient # of beds 21 Ratios 1:5 Required certifications BLS Common diagnoses/Types of patients Medical/Surgical, with specialty in post op cancer intervention (prostatectomy, mastectomy, etc) Experience or 'Must have' skills good communication, accurate documentation, timeliness, patient centered care Are RNs required to titrate drips? yes Common titratable &/or set rate drips heparin, lidocaine, TPN gtt Charge Nurse/House Supervisor yes Are there nurse aids on this unit/Ratios sometimes dependent on sitter needs 1:15 RT Equipment (vents, Cpap, BiPap, etc) Is there tele on this unit? Monitor Techs?
