Shift
- Night Shift — 5x8-hour shifts
- Primary schedule: 04:00 AM – 12:30 PM
- Possible alternate rotation: 08:00 PM – 04:30 AM
- 13-week contract
- Must be willing to work 2 out of 3 major holidays:
- Thanksgiving
- Christmas
- New Year
Responsibilities
At Providence Queen of the Valley Medical Center, the Phlebotomist will:
- Perform blood collection using:
- Vacutainer method
- Syringe method
- Finger sticks
- Heel sticks
- Handle pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients
- Provide post-venipuncture care
- Use handheld collection devices
- Support inpatient hospital laboratory services
- Work with trauma, oncology, labor & delivery, surgical, and general hospital patients
- Float within the hospital or nearby affiliated facilities if needed
- Document in Epic charting system
- Follow hospital safety and specimen handling protocols
- Assist with high-volume inpatient laboratory collections during overnight operations
