Position Overview

Baptist Healthcare System, Inc. is seeking a compassionate and clinically strong Registered Nurse for a 13-week MedSurg/Telemetry assignment in Paducah, Kentucky.

This position supports the 4B Telemetry/Progressive Care Unit, a 41-bed inpatient cardiac telemetry and respiratory care floor caring for patients with cardiac dysrhythmias, respiratory illness, and altered hemodynamics requiring continuous telemetry monitoring.

This assignment was opened to support staffing needs during maternity leave coverage and requires a dependable RN who is flexible with weekends, holidays, and unit scheduling.

Unit Details – 4B Telemetry / Progressive Care

🏥 41-bed inpatient telemetry/progressive care unit

Patient populations include:

• Cardiac dysrhythmias
• Respiratory illness
• Progressive care patients
• Medical and surgical telemetry patients
• Patients requiring hemodynamic monitoring

The unit emphasizes:

• Evidence-based nursing practice

• Collaborative interdisciplinary teamwork
• Patient and family-centered education

Schedule & Assignment Details

• Day or Night Shift: 7:00 – 7:30
• 36 hours/week guaranteed
• 3 shifts per week
• 13-week contract
• Weekend and holiday coverage required
• No special scheduling accommodations

Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive nursing assessments
• Monitor and respond to telemetry changes and patient condition
• Coordinate admissions, transfers, and discharges
• Deliver direct patient care and medication administration
• Provide patient/family education
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary care teams
• Support quality improvement and patient safety initiatives
• Delegate and supervise patient care activities appropriately

Required Qualifications

REQUIRED:

• Active unrestricted RN License
• BLS Certification
• ACLS Certification
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• ADN or ASN degree
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
