Description
Job Title: Central Sterile Technician
Location: Brooklyn, NY
Duration: 13 Weeks
Schedule: Full Time | 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM | Monday–Friday + Rotating Weekends
Hours: 37.5 Hours/Week
RTO: No RTO accepted for new contracts
Job Summary:
Seeking a Central Sterile Technician responsible for inspecting, decontaminating, disinfecting, sterilizing, assembling, and distributing reusable surgical instruments and equipment according to established procedures and manufacturer guidelines.
Responsibilities:
- Inspect, disinfect, sterilize, and assemble surgical instruments/equipment
- Operate Sterrad sterilizers, steam sterilizers, washer/disinfectors, scope washers, and ultrasonic cleaners
- Maintain sterilization records and monitor cycle parameters
- Conduct biological and chemical monitoring per AAMI standards
- Assemble and perform quality checks on surgical instrument trays
- Reprocess instruments according to hospital guidelines
- Handle inventory and ensure proper care of supplies/equipment
- Follow infection control and bloodborne pathogen safety procedures
- Maintain a clean, organized work environment
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Extended coursework in sterilization techniques required
- Minimum 6 months of sterile processing experience preferred
- Knowledge of surgical instrumentation and decontamination procedures
- Understanding of AAMI, AORN, OSHA, and JCAHO standards
- Strong communication and attention to detail skills
