Ultrasound Technologist

About Facility:
2301 US Hwy 74 Wadesboro, NC 28170
15 bed hospital, 8 bed ED attached to a Primary Care Clinic
Pathway designated facility
General Information:
Imaging Rooms: 1 US room and at bedside
How many years minimum do you require? 5 years of US experience
Will you accept a first-time traveler? Yes, as long as experienced
Patient Types:
Very few peds, mostly adults.
Gallstones, pancreatitis, testicular, hernias, ovarian torsion, ectopic pregnancies, extremities with DVT studies, carotids
Average daily census:
10-12 scans
Required License, National Certification, Certs:
BLS, ARDMS; RVT preferred
Will also accept ARRT-S
No state license for either
Skills required:
Experience with above patient types, early OB scans (2nd trimester or less, unless patient coming into ED), abdominal, dopplers
Must be comfortable working solo as will be only US Tech on shift
No interventions, biopsies, or special procedures
Soft Skills: very good social skills, comfortable working with lower socioeconomic status patients, accommodating and good customer/patient service
Support on the Unit:
Patient Service Rep to check patients in
Respiratory Therapy: 24/7
ED MD 24/7
Radiologist: no radiologist on site; read offsite. Can speak to radiologist via phone if concerning scan
Other radiology staff available if needed for patient support
Manager/Supervisor available
Technology/Equipment:
EMR: EPIC - preferred
PACS System: Phillips VUE
Equipment used? Siemens Seqouia (preferred)
Floating: If yes, where?
Only to bedside
Orientation:
NEO
2-3 shifts of unit orientation
Scheduling:
Weekend rotation: None, unless Weekend US Tech is out sick/on vacation. Could be asked to cover some weekends if needed
On call? Yes
1-2 nights per week, any day of the week
1900-0700
30–45-minute response time
Could be called back for DVT, torsions, and ectopic. Will only be called in for emergencies.
Holiday Expectations: If it falls on their set schedule, they will work it.
Approval of RTO: to go through manager
Shift times: Tuesday – Friday, 0900-1900
Schedule cycle: set schedule
Overtime could be available if wanted
Other notes:
Recommended to get housing in Monroe, Lake Tillery, or Rockingham. There is 1 B&B in Anson.
No cafeteria on site
