A Dental Assistant at Tuba City Regional Health Care Corporation helps dentists provide patient care in areas such as restorative dentistry, surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and periodontal treatment.

Main Job Responsibilities

• Prepare patients and treatment rooms for dental procedures
• Assist dentists during procedures (“four-handed dentistry”)
• Sterilize and organize dental instruments and equipment
• Take dental X-rays/radiographs
• Perform dental charting and maintain electronic dental records
• Provide oral hygiene and post-operative instructions to patients
• Maintain infection control and PPE standards
• Assist with laboratory procedures such as impressions, models, mouth guards, and temporary restorations
• Support community dental programs and outreach services 

Qualifications

Typical requirements include:

• High school diploma or GED
• Dental Assistant training program completion
• BLS (Basic Life Support) from AHA certification
• Experience with chair-side dental assisting
• Knowledge of dental instruments and infection control
• Basic computer and EHR/EDR skills
