Interventional Radiology Tech
Shift: 10hr Day Shift - 40
Shift Information: 3-12's, 4-10's -- 0800-1830, or 5-8's -- 0800-1630
On Call, Call Back Requirements: Call required: ▪ 3-4 Call days per month ▪ Weekend call-every 5th-6th weekend – hours will be from Fri approx. 1630 to Monday at 0800
Weekend Rotation: Weekend Call
Holiday Requirements: Travelers will work 75% of holidays

About Facility:
· Winston-Salem, NC 27157
· 885 licensed beds
· Level 1 Trauma Designation
· Teaching Hospital: Yes, Academic Medical Center
· Chest Pain Center
· Stroke Center
Department Information:
· 8 rooms specific to Interventional Radiology
· Average patients/day: 45-50 cases
· Minimum Years of Experience required: 2 years specific to IR Body/IR Neuro at a Level 1 Trauma Center
· Will you accept a first-time traveler: Yes
Patient Types/Common Diagnoses:
· Interventional Radiology – Comprehensive Stroke Center
· Stroke, Cancer, Tumors, occlusions-Peripheral, Carotid, IVC, SVC, etc.
▪ Neuro: Stroke, Ruptures, Subdural fistulas
(3 Neurosurgeons & 1 Neuroradiologist)
▪ Body: Traumas, complex embolization, thrombectomy, thrombolysis, sclerotherapy, Y-90, Sir spheres, biopsies and various drainage and access procedures. 7 Providers & 4 APP's
Required License, National Certification, Certifications (BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, etc.), or other position specific requirements such as Driver's License and/or Insurance:
· IR Tech: BLS; ARRT-R or RCIS
Skills required:
· Scrubbing and assisting in procedures; Circulating-operating equipment, providing needed supplies
Support within the Department:
· Tech extenders – 3 currently on staff to assist with room turnover, paperwork, transport & inventory. 2 per day.
· 2 Techs per Room with RN
· 4 Neuro providers – Neuro Radiologist and 3 Neurosurgeons
· 7 Body Docs
Technology/Equipment:
· EMR: EPIC Encompass
· Department specific Equipment: Siemens, Client and Philips imaging systems and Client US Units
Floating: If yes, where:
· No
Orientation (facility and unit):
· Up to 2 weeks
Scheduling:
· Questions can be clarified with Manager during final interview –
· Shifts: 3-12's, 4-10's -- 0800-1830, or 5-8's -- 0800-1630
· Call required:
▪ 3-4 Call days per month
▪ Weekend call-every 5th-6th weekend – hours will be from Fri approx. 1630 to Monday at 0800
· Holiday Expectations: 75% Holidays – must work if scheduled
· RTO Requests: Manager approval
· Schedule cycle: every 4-6 weeks

· Scrub Color: hospital provided
· Parking: Free
· Department Culture: Very green with new grads – need to be comfortable with new grads and preceptorship, if needed
