Contract Duration: 13 weeks (Possible Extension)

Shift: 12 hours a day, 3 shifts a week.

Shift Type: Nights

Weekly Hours: 36 hours weekly

Job Overview:

The RN Intermediate Care (IMC) nurse provides specialized nursing care to patients who require close monitoring and a higher level of care than Med/Surg, but do not require full ICU care. The nurse is responsible for patient assessment, cardiac monitoring, medication administration, and collaboration with the interdisciplinary healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Performs independent nursing functions and delegated medical functions in accordance with accepted practice standards as defined by the state Board of Nursing.
• Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates nursing care.
• Evaluates health status through the ongoing collection and assessment of health data.
• Performs health teaching and health counseling.
• Provides therapy and treatment that is supportive and restorative to life and well-being either directly to the patient or indirectly through consultation with, delegation to, supervision of, or teaching of others.
• Executes delegated medical functions.
• Refers patients as needed for further evaluation or treatment.
• Reviews and monitors therapy and treatment plans.
• Documents in accordance with hospital and regulatory guidelines.

Required Qualifications:

• Colorado or Compact state RN License
• Active BLS and ACLS certification via AHA
• NIHSS Certification
• 2 years of RN - Intermediate Care/Stepdown experience.
