Description
Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical (Oncology Unit)
Location: Wilmington, NC 28401
Assignment Length: 13 weeks
Start Date: June 8, 2026
Shift: Nights, 3x12-hour (18:45 – 07:15)
- Experience: Minimum 2 years inpatient nursing experience
- Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- Chemo certification (ONS/ONCC) – must be able to administer chemotherapy
- Clinical Skills:
- Med/Surg patient care
- Colostomy care
- Accessing ports
- Blood product administration
- Central line blood draws
- Peripheral line care/management
- PICC line management
- Heparin & insulin administration
- Surgical drains
- Chest tubes (Emerson/Pleur-evac)
- Nasal cannula & non-invasive airway management
- Isolation precautions
- Wound care & wound vac
Preferred Qualifications
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) certification
- Charge nurse experience
- OCN (Oncology Certified Nurse) credential
Additional Information
- Manager is specifically seeking RNs with strong med-surg and oncology skills
