Duties:

Job Summary: -Under supervision, prepares patient and equipment and performs EEG and evoked potentials examinations. -Instructs and prepares patients and equipment for tests. -Performs EEG and Evoked Potential testing on patients of all ages in the EEG Department or at the patient’s bedside. Determines and selects recording parameters based on each patient’s diagnosis or complaint. -Takes recording, analyzes data, and, with assistance, prepares results for physician. Studies wave characteristics during test to detect evidence of brain disorders. -Completes checklists, writes clear narratives and/or enters data into computer files as appropriate. -Completes transcription and accurately processes physician orders according to policy. -Performs routine maintenance on equipment. -Promotes mission, vision, and values of SCL Health, and abides by service behavior standards. -Performs other duties as assigned. -May be required to float to other departments (within scope of competency and qualifications) based on business need. -May be required to be placed on-call during a regularly scheduled shift. null

Required Skills & Experience: -2 years prior experience as an EEG technician. -Regular attendance to perform work on site during regularly scheduled business hours or scheduled shifts is required. -Ability to work nights and/or weekends is required for identified positions. -Minimum of 1 year experience is required. Preferred Skills & Experience: -N/A null

Education:

Required Education: -High School diploma or GED is required. Preferred Education: -Graduate of an accredited EEG or END program with 1 year experience as an EEG technician. Required Certifications & Licensure: -Board of Registered EEG Technologist (ABRET). -(Or) The Certified EEG Technician (CET) registry is required. -BLS - American Heart Association. Preferred Certifications & Licensure: -N/A null
