NOW HIRING – Sterile Processing Technician
St. Vincent Regional Hospital | Day Shift Travel Opportunity
Schedule:
• Monday – Friday
• 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM
We are seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to support surgical services and procedural departments in a fast-paced hospital environment.
Responsibilities:
• Assemble, clean, disinfect, sterilize, and store surgical and procedure trays
• Operate and monitor sterilization equipment
• Prepare and distribute case carts, supplies, and durable medical equipment
• Perform decontamination following Universal Precautions
• Inspect instruments for cleanliness and functionality
• Support instrument tracking, labeling, and inventory documentation
• Maintain sterilization and processing records in compliance with regulatory standards
• Respond to emergency, trauma, and add-on surgical case needs
• Assist with onboarding and on-the-job training of new staff
Requirements:
• High School diploma or equivalent
• Sterile Processing experience required
• Strong understanding of:
- Instrument assembly
- Instrument cleaning
- Instrument sterilization
- Case cart workflow
- Instrument tracking
- Sterilization equipment
• Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced surgical services environment
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Computer proficiency and documentation experience required
Preferred:
• Previous hospital OR or clinic operating room experience
Additional Details:
• Overtime may be required
• Floating and on-call coverage may be required based on business needs
• Must be comfortable supporting emergency and trauma-related cases
Strong SPD candidates with hospital surgical services experience are encouraged to apply immediately.
