Summary

We are seeking an experienced Nuclear Medicine Technologist for a travel assignment at a prestigious Level I Trauma and Teaching Hospital. This role involves performing a wide range of diagnostic Nuclear Medicine and PET/CT procedures for adult and geriatric patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings.

 

Position Highlights

  • First-time travelers accepted
  • No floating to sister facilities
  • Minimal call requirements
  • No local candidates within 100 miles
  • Pending NM State License accepted
  • Facility assists with obtaining CT license if pending

Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic Nuclear Medicine imaging and PET/CT procedures
  • Conduct cardiac, bone, thyroid, liver/spleen, renal, lung, brain, and tumor localization studies
  • Perform procedures including:
    • HIDA Scans
    • MUGA Scans
    • Gastric Emptying
    • Renograms
    • Infection Imaging
    • SPECT/CT and PET/CT imaging
  • Administer and handle radioactive materials safely
  • Start and maintain peripheral IVs
  • Perform venipuncture and phlebotomy
  • Work with PACS and Cerner charting systems
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in hospital and clinic settings

Equipment & Department

  • 4 General Nuclear Medicine Rooms
  • 1 SPECT/CT Room
  • 2 PET/CT Rooms
  • Siemens equipment preferred

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of Nuclear Medicine experience
  • ARRT (N) or NMTCB certification
  • ARRT (R) required
  • Active New Mexico State License or pending
  • BLS certification required
  • CT License preferred (ARRT CT or NMTCB-CT)
  • PET certification preferred

Preferred Experience

  • Teaching hospital and Level I Trauma experience
  • Pediatric and Nuclear Cardiology experience
  • PET/CT imaging experience
  • Experience with:
    • SPECT imaging
    • Myocardial stress testing
    • Lung ventilation/perfusion studies
    • Renal flow studies
    • Thyroid uptake scans
