Registered Nurse (RN) – Labor & Delivery (L&D)

Location: San Luis Obispo, CA 93405
Unit: Labor & Delivery
Contract Length: 13 Weeks

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for its Labor & Delivery department. The RN will provide comprehensive maternal and newborn care in a fast-paced acute care environment while supporting patients through labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum care. The nurse will collaborate closely with physicians, patients, families, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure safe, compassionate, and high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities

Provide direct patient care for Labor & Delivery patients throughout the birthing process
Perform patient assessments and develop individualized nursing care plans
Monitor maternal and fetal conditions during labor and delivery
Administer medications, treatments, and interventions as ordered
Assist with vaginal deliveries, emergency deliveries, and obstetric procedures
Provide patient and family education regarding labor, delivery, postpartum, and newborn care
Maintain accurate nursing documentation and patient records
Collaborate with physicians, anesthesia, neonatal, and interdisciplinary care teams

Schedule & Shift Details

Shift: Nights (19:00 – 07:30)
3x12-hour shifts per week
36 hours per week

Compensation

W2: $30/hour
Weekly Gross: Upto $3,000
Weekly Stipend $1740

Requirements

Active California RN License required
BLS certification required
ACLS certification required
PALS certification required
NRP certification required
Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certification required
