Description
Labor & Delivery (L&D) RN
Job Summary:
Seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery RN to provide comprehensive maternal and newborn care in a fast-paced Acute Care Hospital setting. The RN will support laboring patients, postpartum care, newborn stabilization, and assist with various obstetric procedures and patient education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide nursing care for labor, delivery, postpartum, and mother-baby patients
- Perform fetal monitoring, vaginal exams, and labor support
- Assist with Pitocin inductions, C-sections, and labor management
- Support newborn resuscitation and stabilization after delivery
- Educate and assist mothers with breastfeeding and postpartum recovery
Required Skills:
- Labor & Delivery experience required
- Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM) experience required
- Vaginal exams and labor support experience required
- Experience with inductions, C-sections, and L&D triage (20 weeks and greater)
- Non-Stress Tests, newborn stabilization, and breastfeeding support experience
Preferred Experience:
- Postpartum and Mother-Baby experience
- Med/Surg experience
- 5–10 years experience preferred
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years L&D RN experience required
- Active RN License required
- BCLS Certification required
- NRP Certification required
- AWHONN Intermediate preferred
Schedule & Additional Information:
- Start Date: ASAP
- Patient Ratio: 1:2–3
- Weekend requirement varies based on unit needs
- Floating required
- No on-call requirement
- Block scheduling may be considered upon manager approval
- No local travelers accepted (must live more than 30 miles from facility)

- Scrubs: Provided by facility
- Parking: Free in unrestricted spaces
Important Notes:
- 3 call-outs may result in termination
- Refusal of schedule changes with 48-hour notice may impact guaranteed hours
- Refusal of schedule changes with 1-week notice may result in termination
