Description

Job Summary

Experienced Speech Language Pathologist needed for an inpatient acute rehab assignment focused on neurological rehabilitation, including stroke and traumatic brain injury (TBI) patients. The ideal candidate will have strong inpatient rehabilitation experience, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary rehab team.


Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and treat patients with speech, language, cognitive, communication, and swallowing disorders
  • Develop individualized treatment plans and rehabilitation goals
  • Provide therapy for patients recovering from:
    • Stroke (CVA)
    • Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI)
    • Neurological disorders
  • Perform swallowing evaluations and dysphagia management
  • Educate patients and families on therapy techniques and home care strategies
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, physical therapists, and rehab teams
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation and patient progress notes
  • Utilize Cerner and Epic systems for charting and documentation

Requirements

  • Active Speech Pathologist License in state of practice required
  • ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) required
  • CPR or BLS certification required
  • Inpatient acute rehab/neuro experience required
  • Experience treating stroke and TBI patients required
  • Cerner experience required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Epic experience preferred
  • Strong dysphagia and cognitive rehabilitation experience
  • Experience working in multidisciplinary rehabilitation settings
