Description

SHIFT TIMES: 09:00:00 AM - 05:00:00 PM or 10:00AM - 6:00PM

WORK SITE: 301 East Main Street, Bay Shore NY 11706

The Pathologists’ Assistant will be responsible for examination of biopsies and complex specimens, as well as participation in fine-needle aspiration (FNA) procedures and frozen section diagnostics.

Required:

NYS Pathologists’ Assistant licensure

Previous related experience in gross dissection of surgical specimens and frozen sections.

Preferred:

ASCP for Pathologists’ Assistants preferred

Typically, the Pathologists' Assistant will be responsible for 20-50 specimens per day (mixed specimens index). They will utilize Cryostat, Grossing station, Cerner Millenium, Voicebrook, 10% Neutral Buffered Formalin, Forceps, Scalpels, Cassettes, Tissue processor
