An Ultrasound Technician (Sonographer) at the Northern Cheyenne Service Unit performs diagnostic imaging procedures using ultrasound equipment to assist physicians in diagnosing and treating patients. The role supports healthcare services for Native American and tribal communities in a culturally respectful environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations independently
• Operate and maintain ultrasound imaging equipment
• Prepare patients for ultrasound procedures
• Obtain high-quality diagnostic images for physician review
• Maintain accurate patient records in EHR/PACS systems
• Ensure patient safety, privacy, and comfort during procedures
• Follow Indian Health Service (IHS) clinical protocols and infection-control standards
• Collaborate with physicians, radiologists, nurses, and healthcare staff
• Participate in quality assurance and mandatory training programs
• Demonstrate cultural sensitivity while serving tribal communities 

Required Qualifications:

• RDMS (Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer) certification or ARRT Sonography credential
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
• Experience in hospital or clinical ultrasound imaging
• Knowledge of ultrasound technology and patient care standards
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Strong communication and documentation skills
