- Monday to Thursday, 7:30 AM – 6:00 PM (4x10 hour shifts)
- No weekends or on-call required
Job Description
- Perform routine and complex histology procedures used in pathology diagnosis
- Assist in pathology grossing area
- Participate in general maintenance of the histopathology laboratory
- Requires experience with Immunohistochemistry (IHC)
Required Qualifications
- Valid Histology Technologist license in District of Columbia
- ASCP HTL certification
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Physical, Biological, or Clinical Laboratory Science
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Histology Technologist, including experience within the last year
Preferred Experience
- Experience in commercial or reference laboratories is preferred
Compliance and Documentation Requirements
- Valid driver's license required if driving is an essential job function
- Criminal background check within 90 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years
- Drug screen within 90 days of start (does not include marijuana)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year; annual TB questionnaire required
- Documentation of immunizations or titers for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B, and Tdap vaccine (within 10 years preferred)
- Annual physical exam confirming ability to work without accommodations and free from communicable disease
- Completion of facility-specific orientation modules prior to start
- I9/E-Verify attestation required prior to start
- Two positive supervisory references supporting at least 2 years of experience within the last 3 years
- Complete 7 years of work history with no gaps, including education, employment, license, and contact information
Additional Notes
- No on-call or weekend shifts
- Local rate within 60 miles of the facility
- Must meet all facility-specific health and safety requirements including annual flu vaccination or approved exemption
