Interventional Radiology Tech

● General Information:
o Beds:
▪ Census? Average patients/day? 15/day
o Minimum Years of Experience? 2 years
o Will you accept a first-time traveler? Yes
● Patient Types/Common Diagnoses:
o Venous work: dialysis lines, ports, TIPS, IVC, SVC
o Body work: complex embolizations, thrombectomy, thrombolysis, sclerotherapy, Y90s, Sir spheres, biopsies, various drainage and access procedures
● Required Licensure & Certifications:
o BLS, ACLS
o ARRT-R or RCIS
● Skills required:
o Scrubbing and assisting in procedures, circulating, operating equipment, providing needed supplies
● Support within the Department:
o 1 Provider, 4 APPs
o 2 Tech per room with RN
● Technology/Equipment:
o EMR: EPIC Encompass
o IV Pump: Baxter
o Med dispensing: Omnicell
o Unit specific equipment: Siemens equipment, Sonosite Ultrasound
● Floating: If yes, where and how often? Travelers float first?
o No
● Orientation (facility and unit):
o NEO
o At least 2 days in department
● Scheduling:
o Scheduling questions can be clarified with Manager during final interview
o Weekend rotation: No, except call
o On call? If so, what is that schedule?
▪ 3-4 call days per month
▪ Weekend call every 5th-6th weekend from Friday end of shift until Monday at 0800
o Holiday Expectations:
o RTO approvals: To go through manager
o Shift times: 4 10h shifts (0700-1730) or 5 8h shifts (0800-1630)
o Schedule cycle: Every 4-6 weeks
